The Marsh family business started in Dover, Ohio in 1914 with the formation of the Marsh Lumber Company.  Following World War I, the company experienced a period of rapid growth and purchased an abandoned lumber yard to manufacture wood products for flooring, car decking and interior trim.  Through the decades, the company dropped and added divisions and partnered with other corporations.  In 1958, the Marsh Chalkboard Division was started and was the origin for the visual display products offered today.

In 1995, the company name was changed to Marsh Industries and now over 105 years later and in its fifth generation of family ownership,  is one of the largest manufacturers of visual display-board products in the United States.
